Avril Lavigne Continues Her Britney Spears Trash-Talking Crusade

It's been a while since we heard Avril Lavigne lambaste her pop princess peer Britney Spears, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been thinking about the wig-wearing singer.
In a recent interview with the U.K.'s Sun newspaper, Lavigne took it upon herself to criticize Spears' shortcomings, and said that she has no-one to blame but herself for her recent stay in a rehabilitation facility.
"What's happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person. If you want a piece of this business, you have to be able to deal with it. You can't complain about the pressures, the paparazzi, the madness, because that's the job."
To add insult to injury, Lavigne told Jane magazine that her mother mistreated her during her teenage years by taking her to a Spears concert.
"My mom made me go to a Britney Spears concert when I was young. I was like, 'No I don't want to.' She was like, 'If you're going to be a performer, you need to see other people.'"
In addition to disparaging Spears' character, she may have also taken a shot at how poorly she handles her liquor. Lavigne admitted that she likes to drink, but can handle it, and "no one really gets to know" about it.
However, the world seemed to get a good look at Lavigne's attitude toward paparazzi and her behaviour after clubbing when she spat on two photographers just for kicks in October.
Lavigne's uneasiness with the media can also be witnessed in a March 31 PopWorld interview with Alex Zane, where she barely answered his questions and kept rolling her eyes and playing with her hair.
Lavigne's new The Best Damn Thing album is set for release on April 17.
