Simple Plan Test New Sounds For Next Album

While pop-punk band Simple Plan have spent a lot of time writing new material for their upcoming album, lead singer Pierre Bouvier recently shed some light on a few of the tracks they've been working on.
According to Bouvier, the band travelled to Miami, Fla. in late March to work with a producer to "record a new song that is gonna be crazy!!!" He didn't name the producer.
"All I can tell you is thats its something totally different that we're trying out," Bouvier wrote on his MySpace page. "You know we figured this is our 3rd album now and we needed to try stuff... just for ourselves, to keep it fresh and fun. Honestly I dont really know how its gonna turn out but I have really good feeling!
"And dont worry it's not like we're pulling at complete 180 on you guys. We have tons of songs that are similar to all our old stuff that for sure you're all gonna love. We just wanted to make something a little different... something cool (hopefully)."
The band finished two "really beautiful slower songs" last month and Bouvier wrote that the group were experimenting more with the piano.
"There is just something about the piano that is so timeless and classic.
"I wish I could just post up some demos but you know how that goes... Next thing you know they'll be all over the internet!!!!"
Simple Plan released their last studio album, Still Not Getting Any, in 2004. A tour in support of the album spawned an MTV Hard Rock Live CD/DVD package in 2005.
