Former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland appears to have pissed his wife off so much that she felt the need to burn half his wardrobe to make herself feel better.
The trouble began Saturday when the Velvet Revolver lead singer and his wife, Mary Weiland, got into a very heated argument at the Graciela Hotel in Burbank, California. TMZ.com reported that alarm clocks and phones were ripped from their sockets and thrown, resulting in dents and gouges being made in the walls. Blood was apparently found on some linens as well, but there's been no word if Weiland or his wife were injured in the fracas.
The couple's two young children saw part of the fight, but were taken away by Weiland's assistant. The singer followed soon thereafter and left his wife to her own devices. Sources claim that she could be heard throwing things, and police were called. The hotel is pressing charges for the damage done to the room.
Later that night, the 31-year-old woman was arrested for investigation of felony arson vandalism after police responded to a call about a "female burning clothes" after she allegedly torched $10,000 U.S. worth of the rocker's wardrobe in front of their Toluca Lake home. She was released three hours later on $50,000 bail.
"Mrs. Weiland voluntarily came to the Burbank police station, where she was interviewed by detectives," officer Matt Ferguson said in a Reuters article. "Scott Weiland arrived at the station with his attorney a short time later."
Family friends are taking care of the couple's children while this mess gets sorted out.
This isn't the first time that things got intense between the Weilands. Scott was sentenced to probation and paid a fine in December 2001 after pleading guilty to a domestic violence charge against Mary.
