No Love For Snoop Dogg From British Authorities

The five U.K. dates of Snoop Dogg and Diddy's One Love Peace Tour have been cancelled, since Snoop was barred from entering the country on Monday.

British authorities refused to give Snoop (real name Calvin Broadus) a visa to enter the country, despite his claim that he was issued a work permit weeks ago. There had been thoughts of going ahead with the British dates with Diddy only, but that plan was scrapped.

"With the late notice of Snoop being denied a visa, time has run out and it is too late to reconfigure the show," said a press release issued by the tour's promoter, LiveNation. "Credible behind-the-scenes efforts were made to reverse the decision, to no avail."

Snoop told MTV News International that he was disappointed with the decision and that he wouldn't be able to perform for his British fans.

"With my mic and my presence, I can reach kids that the politicians can't and tell them to stop the violence," he said.

British Home Office rules state that foreign citizens can be barred from entering the country if there are concerns about their presence. Snoop and five members of his entourage were arrested for violent disorder and starting a brawl last April at London's Heathrow Airport when one member of his party was denied entry into British Airways' first-class lounge.

Snoop also had a few problems with the law at U.S. airports late last year, and on the current European tour he was arrested for suspicion of using drugs in Stockholm, Sweden. But at least the entrepreneurial star still has the luck of the Irish, as the One Love Peace Tour will be allowed to resume in Dublin with shows on March 31 and April 1.
