Wolf Parade's Dan Boeckner Mixes Music And Romance With Handsome Furs

Will Wolf Parade ever get around to releasing a new album? It makes one wonder, as the band members keep going off to work on other projects.
The latest to stray from the pack is Dan Boeckner, who has joined musical forces with fiancee Alexei Perry to form Handsome Furs. Keeping it in the family, the duo are signed to Wolf Parade's Sub Pop Records label, which will release their Plague Park debut on May 22.
Handsome Furs recorded Plague Park with the help of Arlen Thompson at Wolf Parade's Mount Zoomer studio in mid-December. Vocals, guitars and a drum machine were used to create the dark, minimalist and repetitive sounds on the album. One of its songs, "Handsome Furs Hate This City," can be heard on the group's MySpace page.
Boeckner and Perry booked a European tour before writing any songs and have opened for Modest Mouse, David Cross and Islaja.
Here are the tracks on Plague Park:
"What We Had"
"Hearts Of Iron"
"Handsome Furs Hate This City"
"Snakes On The Ladder"
"Cannot Get, Started"
"Sing! Captain"
"Dead + Rural"
"Dumb Animals"
"The Radio's Hot Sun"
