Black Light Burns Set For A Cruel Melody In June

Wes Borland

Black Light Burns, the group featuring former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, will see its Cruel Melody album released on June 5. According to the band's MySpace site, the record will feature 13 tracks as well as the possibility of bonus tracks depending on the territory where the album is released. The album is being released on I Am: Wolfpack, the new label headed by Ross Robinson. First single "Lie" will go to radio stations on March 20 and a video for the song will be shot for it as well. That song, along with the title track and "The Mark" are currently available on the band's site. Black Light Burns will tour through Southeast Asia in mid-March performing shows and also staging guitar clinics in Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia and New Delhi. More dates are to be announced shortly, but the lone North American date thus far is a show in Chicago on April 30.

In 2001, Borland left Limp Bizkit, but rejoined the band in 2004 for the EP The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1). Soon after, Borland parted company with Limp Bizkit due to the band's inactivity. A second EP, aptly titled The Unquestionable Truth (Part 2), is reportedly in the works and will feature Borland's playing on the tracks. Borland has also performed with his BigDumbFace and Goatslayer side projects. As well, he's placed a new song called "TheMomentInWhichYou" on his personal MySpace page dedicated to his paintings.
