Jared Leto Breaks His Nose And Bassist Leaves 30 Seconds To Mars

Members of the Echelon, the pretentious name that 30 Seconds To Mars' most fervent fans call themselves, must be aghast after L. Ron Hubbard-like band leader Jared Leto broke his nose and sustained other injuries after running into the crowd at a concert last Thursday.
The rock band is on the Taste Of Chaos tour, and things definitely got chaotic at the El Paso, Texas stop when thousands of fans were apparently so excited to see the actor/singer that they overpowered security and rushed toward Leto on the floor of County Coliseum. The Fight Club cast member suffered a foot injury and superficial wounds to his face and body in addition to the broken nose.
But someone tough enough to attack Elijah Wood wasn't going to let his suffering get in the way of attempting to rock the house, and Leto showed why the Echelon consider him a martyr, as he finished the show before checking into a hospital to make sure that he didn't need surgery.
"I've been producing shows for 25 years and this was one of the scariest moments I have witnessed," Taste Of Chaos organizer Kevin Lyman said in a statement. "We hope Jared's injuries are all minor and that he has a speedy recovery."
On the same night that Leto got beat up, the band announced from the stage that bassist Matt Wachter was leaving after five years in order to spend more time with family.
"We love and support him completely and accept his decision with respect and understanding," the group said on their website. "This is not an end, it is a new beginning.
"There are times we all wish for things to stay the same but change is inevitable and we believe it must be embraced as a gift, not as anything else. There are only positive feelings between us all and we will always remember the wonderful contributions he has made to this project."
