The Police, White Stripes And Tool To Headline Bonnaroo Festival

The White Stripes

The sixth annual Bonnaroo Music And Arts Festival, taking place from June 14 to 17 in Manchester, Tennessee, will feature more than 100 bands and 20 comedians on 13 stages.

The Police, The White Stripes, Tool and Franz Ferdinand are among the biggest names included in the fest's initial list of performers. Feist, Sam Roberts Band and Martha Wainwright are the Canuck participants announced so far.

In addition to the massive musical lineup, the festival will also feature artisans, restaurants, movies, internet cafes, yoga classes, arcades and a comedy club to entertain anyone who might need a break from all the jamming and drum circles.

Bonnaroo is also dedicated to raising environmental awareness and donates some of its revenue to local charities. It tries to reduce environmental waste by promoting a recycling program and using post-consumer supplies and bio-diesel generators. The environmental awareness will come in handy since Bonnaroo organizers Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment recently purchased most of the festival's 700-acre site to make room for more parking and camping.

Tickets go on sale on Feb. 23.
