The Frames Ready New Album And Tour North America

The Frames

The Frames, one of the most successful groups in their native Ireland since forming in 1992, will take another shot at broadening their North American fanbase with the Feb. 20 release of The Cost and a subsequent tour.

The Anti- album is the band's sixth, and the previous five have all achieved double-platinum status in Ireland. The Cost was recorded in 10 days in France, and everything was done live off the floor with no overdubs to try and capture the energy of the band's shows, similar to 2004's Set List live concert album.

Lead singer Glen Hansard released a collaborative album with Czech singer, pianist and composer Marketa Irglova under the name Swell Season last March. This year, he gained acclaim at the recent Sundance Film Festival for his role as a street musician in the film Once. Two of the songs he sings in the movie will also be included on The Cost.

The Frames will be in North America for most of April, and will play these Canadian shows:
April 12 Vancouver, BC @ Plaza Club
April 20 Toronto, ON @ Phoenix
April 21 Montreal, QC @ Le National

Here are the tracks on The Cost:
"Song For Someone"
"Falling Slowly""
People Get Ready"
"Rise"
"When Your Mind's Made Up"
"Sad Song"
"The Cost"
"True"
"The Side You Never Get To See"
"Bad Bone"
