Alanis Morissette And Ryan Reynolds Call It Quits Again

Just as Alanis Morissette used a break-up as inspiration to help launch her to stardom via "You Oughta Know" 12 years ago, perhaps she can use her split with fiance Ryan Reynolds as grist to help boost her record sales back to Jagged Little Pill levels.
Representatives for Morissette and Reynolds released this joint statement on the end of their engagement:
"Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement. They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter."
Morissette and Reynolds, an actor who can currently be seen on theatre screens in Smokin' Aces, broke up for a while last year, but then reconciled. The joys of make-up sex only last for so long, however, and it appears that this split is for good.
The two celebrities first met at Drew Barrymore's birthday party in 2002, and they became engaged in 2004. A wedding date was never announced.
A new album was expected from Morissette last year, but that didn't happen either. However, we look forward to new potential new songs including "Honestly, Your Abs Aren't That Great" and "That Beard Made You Look Gay."
