Angels & Airwaves Start Work On New Album

Angels & Airwaves

Less than a year after putting out their We Don't Need To Whisper debut, Angels & Airwaves are back in studio getting started on album two.

"After much thought and consideration, the band got together and decided that it was time to regroup and write their second record," A&A said on their website on Jan. 19. "Roadcases full of seemingly endless equipment have been unloaded and thousands of electrical wires have been plugged in during the past week to get everything ready for the recording process."

Angels & Airwaves staged a private concert in New York last week. The band, fronted by former Blink-182 singer Tom DeLonge, recently contributed a new acoustic song titled "Star Of Bethelem" to a compilation issued by Los Angeles radio station KROQ.

Although there's no word on when the album will be released, DeLonge said that the recording process could take up most of 2007. Angels & Airwaves spent much of 2006 on the road in support of their debut. In related news, +44, the band featuring former Blink members Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus, are in the midst of a European tour without Barker. The drummer broke his arm last September but forged ahead despite the injury until the pain recently became too much to handle. Gil Sharone has temporarily replaced Barker.
