Coldplay Singles Box Set For March Release

Coldplay

Coldplay have announced that a boxed set containing all 14 of their singles will be released internationally on March 26.

According to the British band's website, The Singles 1999-2006 will be issued with original artwork on seven-inch heavyweight vinyl only.

The set, consisting of 33 tracks, will also feature the band's rare 1999 EP, The Blue Room. The EP will be split into two singles for the boxed set. It will also contain "The Hardest Part," a single previously only available as a download to British fans. Coldplay's last album, X&Y, came out in June 2005. The band will launch a South American tour with a three-night stand in Santiago, Chile beginning on Valentine's Day. The tour also includes three-night stops in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Sao Paulo, Brazil, and will reportedly feature new material that they've been working on.

That new material for their fourth album will apparently be produced by Brian Eno (U2, Talking Heads), according to an interview with the musician/producer that aired on Britain's BBC Radio 4's Front Row program last Friday. Eno didn't reveal many details, but said that he expected the still-untitled LP to "be very original and very different from what they've done before."
