Mother Mother Get Their Gang Colours For New Album

Mother Mother

Last Gang Records has made Vancouver's Mother Mother the newest addition to its roster. The group, which the Vancouver Province calls "one of the top five bands to watch in BC in 2007," will release its Touch Up label debut on Feb. 20, the same day that they'll set out on a national tour that starts in Victoria.

Bringing Mother Mother into the Last Gang fold was a no-brainer, according to label president Chris Taylor, who had previously signed Metric and Death From Above 1979.

"When Jennifer Hirst brought the band to the team, we became fans, we fell in love. When we all went to see them this past October at Pop Montreal, that was it, we knew we wanted to build a relationship."

The band's postmodern pop music spans across genres but is held together by three unique voices that weave in and out of harmony. You can listen to four tracks — "Dirty Town," "Polynesia," "Oh Ana" and "Touch Up" — on the band's MySpace page.
