Sean Lennon, Cheap Trick And Everclear Strum Wilbury Songs

Sean Lennon, Mick Ronson, Everclear, Cheap Trick and Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones are contributing to Strumming Wilburys, a tribute album dedicated to The Traveling Wilburys.
The record is slated for release on Jan. 30 through Oarfin Records. "Tweeter And The Monkey Man," "Handle With Care," "End Of The Line," "Last Night" and "Congratulations" are among the songs expected to be on the compilation. The Traveling Wilburys featured Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison.
Orbison died in December 1988, weeks after Volume 1 was released, but the remaining four returned to release the Volume 3 sophomore effort, dedicating it to the late singer. Petty performed "Handle With Care" on most of the tour dates in support of his Highway Companion album last summer.
The group's history is expected to be highlighted later this year with a special reissue of the Volume 1 debut. In an interview with TheRockRadio.com last October, Harrison's widow Olivia Harrison said that home footage from the recording sessions is expected to be released on DVD in association with the album's reissue that her husband had been working on.
"It's really nice to get this one done. He'd remastered this already in 2001 himself, but he didn't get a chance to finish it. I think next year the Wilburys is so overdue — way overdue. And there's a lot of great material on that as well, so I'm just trying to get to it."
There's no word on exactly when the reissue or DVD will be released. Petty also announced on his XM Satellite Radio show that the two Wilburys albums would be reissued with bonus tracks.
