Nelly Furtado will make her prime time acting debut by playing Ava Grant, a shoplifter suspected of murder, in an episode of CSI: NY airing on CTV on Feb. 7. The singer previously played herself in a 2001 episode of the sci-fi drama, Roswell.
Speaking of music artists on the small screen, Taking Back Sunday have been scheduled to appear on the long-running Canadian high school drama, Degrassi Junior High: The Next Generation. In an episode titled "What's It Feel Like To Be A Ghost?", after the band's song of the same name, Degrassi student and aspiring musician Craig Manning joins the group for a one-night-only show and finds that partying like a rock star may stand in the way of his dream girl and career.
In real life drama on TV, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee announced during the band's Live@Much performance on Tuesday that she became engaged to her boyfriend Josh the previous night while the group were in Toronto for a concert at the Air Canada Centre.
Here's one show that we won't be sorry to see draw to a close: Celine Dion's run at the Colosseum theatre in Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace casino/hotel will end on Dec. 15. The chanteuse started performing there in March 2003 and almost 2.5 million people have seen her thus far. The final year of the show will feature new songs and costumes, and a performance is slated to be filmed this month for a TV special and DVD. Circle March 1 on your calendar if you want to get in on the final block of tickets for concerts from August through December.
