Dita Von Teese Dumps Marilyn Manson After A Year Of Marriage

Burlesque dancer/model Dita Von Teese has filed for divorce from shock rocker Marilyn Manson, just a year after they tied the knot during an elaborate ceremony at an Irish mansion.

Von Teese (real name Heather Renee Sweet) and Manson (real name Brian Warner) had dated for about five years before they were married, but she cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split in divorce documents filed on Dec. 29. She listed their date of separation as Dec. 24.

Von Teese moved out of the couple's Los Angeles home last month and hadn't been able to contact Manson since. He received the divorce papers on Friday at an L.A. recording studio where he's working on his first album since 2003's The Golden Age Of Grotesque.

It's alleged that heavy drinking by Manson may have been the root cause of some of the couple's problems.

"She loved him so much, but he has too many demons," an unidentified source told the New York Post.

Manson photographed Von Teese for the December 2002 issue of Playboy, a magazine that the model has appeared in frequently. She's known for her unique look, which is inspired by styles from the '30s and '40s, and is the face of Estee Lauder's MAC makeup. Von Teese hasn't made any claims for spousal support.
