Bryan Ferry Gets Tangled Up In Dylan For New Solo Album

Bryan Ferry

With his keen fashion sense and sophisticated style, Bryan Ferry might never be mistaken for Bob Dylan. However, it won't stop Ferry from releasing an album of classic Dylan tunes.

According to Roxyrama, an unofficial but authoritative fan site dedicated to Ferry and Roxy Music, EMI will release Dylanesque sometime in March. Although no track list has been officially confirmed, songs interpreted by Ferry for Dylanesque reportedly include "All Along The Watchtower," "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues," "Simple Twist Of Fate" and "The Times They Are A-Changin'," among others.

The Roxy Music lead singer has covered Dylan sporadically on previous solo albums. The artist performed "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" on his 1973 These Foolish Things debut and more recently included "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" and "It's All Over Now Baby Blue" on his last solo effort, 2002's Frantic.

The album's release will coincide with an extensive solo European tour set to begin in the U.K. in early March and run through mid-April. Ferry was also recently confirmed to perform at "The Concert For Diana" slated for July at London's Wembley Stadium.

As for Roxy Music, the group continue to work on new material and a studio album is in the cards for sometime this year. A DVD titled Roxy Music: The Thrill Of It All — A Visual History 1972-1982 is also being slated for release. It will feature promotional videos, television performances and live footage.

Here's the reported track list for Dylanesque:
