Evel Knievel Files A Lawsuit Against Kanyevel West

Kanye West

It seems like Kanye West's "Touch The Sky" is cursed.

First he was cut down by critics for hijacking the stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards after the clip lost the best music video award to Justice Vs. Simian's "We Are Your Friends." Now West is being sued by Robert Craig Knievel, better known as Evel Knievel, for infringing on the daredevil's trademark name and likeness in the video.

Knievel filed a lawsuit against the rapper on Dec. 11 in Tampa, Florida, stating that the images depicted in the video are "vulgar and offensive" and have caused damage to Knievel's reputation.

"That video that Kanye West put out is the most worthless piece of crap I've ever seen in my life, and he uses my image to catapult himself to the public," Knievel told the Associated Press.

In the clip, which also stars Pamela Anderson, West takes on the persona of "Evel Kanyevel," wears a Knievel-like star-studded jumpsuit, and jumps a rocket over a canyon. He also rides a vehicle Knievel's lawsuit describes as "visually indistinguishable" from the Skycycle that Knievel used when he attempted to jump Idaho's Snake River Canyon in 1974.

Knievel wants damages and seeks to halt distribution of the video.
