Magneta Lane Get Hacked On MySpace

Magneta Lane

Magneta Lane were forced to redo their MySpace identity this weekend after a hacker broke into their account.

In a weekend post on their now-functioning MySpace page titled "SOME DICKSMACK HACKED INTO OUR MYSPACE," the band broke down the damage like this:

"this morning an individual whom we do not know hacked into our myspace account and 2 years worth of fans and comments were erased. It will take some time to get this back up but we promise we will soon. we must start from scratch.

"spread the word

"p.s myspace is being stupid and doesn't let us add songs to our profile."

"We originally had it as 'asshole,' but we changed it to 'dicksmack' because we thought it would have more impact," singer Lexi Valentine joked on Monday, adding that roughly 7,000 MySpace friends were deleted from the account.

Magneta Lane are scheduled to begin recording their second full-length LP soon. At a show at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern on Saturday night, the trio premiered two new songs, one untitled and the other called "Lady Bones" or "Ladybones." The group have a handful of shows lined up to close out a busy 2006:

Dec. 12 London, ON @ The Salt Lounge w/Die Mannequin
Dec. 16-17 Windsor, ON @ The Avalon Front w/Neverending White Lights
Dec. 23 Toronto, ON @ The Drake w/Neverending White Lights
Dec. 26 Port Dalhousie, ON @ Port Mansion
