Axl Rose Kicks Eagles Of Death Metal Off Guns N' Roses Tour

Eagles Of Death Metal

Eagles Of Death Metal lasted just one show opening for Guns N' Roses, as the band apparently didn't go over too well with either Axl Rose or his fans.

Following Sebastian Bach's well-received opening set of traditional hair metal, EODM took the stage at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday night. It was the group's first show as part of the Gunners tour, and they were supposed to travel with them for three weeks. But, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer's John Soeder, it didn't go well.

The critic said that the Jesse Hughes-fronted rock group received "not deafening boos, but lots of grumbling and grousing and... indifference."

GN'R didn't come on stage until two hours after EODM had finished, but one of the first things out of Rose's mouth when he finally arrived was, "So how'd you like the Pigeons Of Shit Metal? Don't worry, that's the last show they're playing with us."

The eccentric frontman wasn't lying. EODM were thrown off the tour that night.

But the group took it well, and with their usual cheeky humour, judging by this statement that they released on Monday:

"At first the audience refused to welcome us to the jungle, but by the time we took our final bow, it had become paradise city. Although Axl tried to November rain on our parade, no sweet child o'mine can derail the EODM night train. We say live and let die."
