Loose Ends: Nude Love, Hendrix Songs Sale Halted And Sonic Unyon's Christmas Party

Courtney Love

In an effort to promote her new Dirty Blonde: The Diaries Of Courtney Love book and forthcoming album, Courtney Love is doing what she did before her movie career: getting naked. The 42-year-old singer/songwriter/actress slimmed down considerably for a photo shoot for the December issue of Britain's Pop Magazine.

The controversial $15-million U.S. sale of Jimi Hendrix songs by former manager Michael Jeffrey has been temporarily scuttled by a New York judge, who ruled that the deal will remain on hold until more details can be determined. Jeffrey had agreed to sell the rights to the songs to an anonymous buyer through Ocean Tomo Auctions last month, but some of Hendrix's relatives claimed that they actually owned them. Jeffrey was given the rights to 33 master recordings in 1973, contingent on him paying $50,000 to the singer/guitarist's family. The relatives claim that they never received the money and that they're now owed $725,868.

Hamilton indie label/distributor Sonic Unyon will throw a Christmas party at the Casbah in Steeltown on Dec. 16. Organizers are asking for attendees to bring a non-perishable food item that will be donated to help feed the city's homeless population, and admission will be $10 with a donation. Confirmed to perform so far are A Northern Chorus, Camouflage Nights, Joel Elliott, The Ghost Is Dancing, Neil Haverty, Lullaby Arkestra, The Nein, Raising The Fawn and The Rest, while Bob Wiseman will show short films.
