Even if Nelly Furtado won't pose for Playboy, Canadians will still be able to see lots of her in the spring as part of her Get Loose Tour.
The tour will hit Canada, the U.S., Japan, Australia, Europe and Latin America, and will feature a variety of opening acts and guest appearances throughout its duration. Canada will see homegrown artists Saukrates and Divine Brown opening for Furtado. As for the rest of the world, Furtado may take Latin Grammy Award winners Calle 13 along for some dates.
There are plenty of big names that the Victoria, B.C. singer can call for guest appearances. Furtado told MTV News that she'd extend an invitation to Coldplay's Chris Martin to join her during some European dates to sing their duet "All Good Things (Come To An End)." Juanes could sing on "Te Busque" in Latin America. Should their tours cross near enough to each other, Justin Timberlake could share the stage with Furtado, as the two have recorded several unreleased tracks. Furtado also said that she was sure that singer/producer Timbaland would join her on stage when available, as they "love performing together."
Timbaland produced most of Furtado's Loose album, which has sold almost 300,000 copies in Canada and more than nine million around the world since being released earlier this year.
"I can't wait to bring the show to the fans and thank them for sticking with me this whole time," says Furtado of a show that will include visuals and a choreographer for four dancers, but keep "room for spontaneity and rawness."
Furtado has also been helping Victoria-based conservation group, Land Conservancy. A Vanity Fair four-page advertising spread for the Bailey Banks And Biddle jewelry store chain featuring Furtado mentioned the non-profit organization along the bottom. The singer has donated time, money and her image to the group, which helps protect green areas such as the Sooke Potholes in B.C.
