Editors Recording New Album In Ireland

Editors have been hard at work crafting the follow-up to their debut album, The Back Room.
That breakthrough LP, released in the British band's homeland last year and in Canada this past spring, opened a lot of doors for them. It also raised expectations, so the group's growing fanbase should be happy to know that album number two is coming along well, according to a post by singer Tom Smith on the band's website.
Editors finished 20 months of almost constant touring in September and have since been writing songs in between some members' club DJ appearances and periods of relaxation. They left for Ireland last week and will be there for about a month working on the new disc with producer Garret "Jacknife" Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party), who produced "Bullets" from the Editors' debut.
The band have about 12 songs finished along with ideas for others, wrote Smith.
"I can't explain in words how excited we all are about the new songs; they're without doubt the best songs we've ever written."
Among the tracks expected to make it on to the still untitled album are "Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors," "The Racing Rats," "An End Has A Start," "When Anger Shows," "Push Your Head Towards The Air," "A Thousand Pieces," "An Eye For An Eye," "Bones" and "The Weight Of The World."
"The album won't be finished before Christmas but the break will give us chance to see our families, eat mince pies, get drunk and say hi to Santa, then maybe some more writing before we start recording again in the new year," wrote Smith.
