Nas And Jay-Z Bury The Hatchet For Hip-Hop Is Dead

Nas and Jay-Z were feuding earlier this decade, but that all seems to be behind them now. Nas signed to Jigga's Def Jam label earlier this year, and now the boss has even contributed to a song on his new album.
"Black Republican," which has "leaked" along with a few other tracks from Hip-Hop Is Dead... The N ahead of the album's Dec. 19 release date, features the two rappers trading lines over a mid-tempo groove and orchestral samples.
But Jay-Z is just one of the prominent artists featured along with Nas (real name Nasir Jones) on the record. His wife Kelis, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Damien Marley and Will.I.Am all lend their vocal talents, while the list of producers includes some of those same people along with Dr. Dre, Scott Storch and others.
Nas has been one of the most respected lyricists in the rap game since his 1994 debut, Illmatic. Hip-Hop Is Dead follows 2004's Street's Disciple and is Nas' eighth studio album.
Nas, the New York City-born son of jazz musician Olu Dara, has been working on the score for Blood Diamonds. The movie about the exploitation of African diamond miners should arrive in theatres next month.
