Look Closer, Sexy Rexy Is Back

Newfoundland singer Rex Goudie will further distance himself from being known as "the guy who finished second on Canadian Idol" with the Dec. 12 release of his sophomore album, Look Closer.
"Being an Idol was a big stepping stone for my career," says Goudie of his 2005 experience. "With Look Closer, I have gotten the opportunity to lean in a direction that is closer to how I see myself as an artist. I've written a lot more on this album, and because of that, the album really represents who I am."
Goudie co-wrote more than half the Sony BMG album with the likes of Damhnait Doyle, Andrew Cash and Scratching Post's Nicole Hughes. Lead single "You Got To Me," which is at radio now, was written by the husband and wife team of Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk.
Look Closer was recorded in Toronto with producer Jeff Dalziel (Edwin, Thornley) and mixer Denis Tougas (Chris Cornell, Sum 41, Nelly Furtado).
Goudie has spent the last year touring in support of his Under The Lights debut, first with 2005 Idol winner Melissa O'Neil, and then on his own. Under The Lights, which was certified platinum for selling 100,000 copies, yielded the #1 single, "Run." Goudie received Juno Award nominations for artist and album of the year, but came up short in both categories. The Rex Goudie: Idolized biography was recently published by Clip Creative Publishers.
