Neko Case And Johnny Cash Austin City Limits Performances Coming On CD

New West Records has been releasing DVDs of performances from the long-running PBS music show Austin City Limits, and two of the best will be issued on CD on Jan. 9.

The label has put out ACL DVDs from the likes of Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yoakam, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, John Hiatt and Fats Domino, and the most popular of them have also been transferred on to CD. The two latest artists to receive that honour are Neko Case and Johnny Cash, whose performances are about to be released in a second format.

Neko Case Live From Austin TX is taken from the part-time New Pornographer's Aug. 9, 2003 performance on ACL, while Cash was captured on tape on Jan. 3, 1987. The Cash DVD (and now the forthcoming CD) featured songs not included in the original broadcast.

The next releases in New West's ACL series will come from Guy Clark and Lynyrd Skynyrd on Jan. 23 and Dave Alvin sometime in February.
