Fab Things Happening For Faber Drive

It's an exciting time if your name is Faber. You have a new band name, two new record deals, a debut album that's slated for release in the spring and you get to hang out with Chad Kroeger.
The Mission, B.C. band formerly known as Faber are now going by Faber Drive. The group — comprised of Faber (vocals, guitar), David Hinsley (guitar), Jeremy Liddle (bass, vocals) and Red Bull (drums) — won the talent search contest at Vancouver rock radio station CFOX last year and have since captured more attention by playing with the likes of Hedley, MxPx and Thornley.
The two-year-old group cut their first demo recordings with producer/engineer Joey Moi (Nickelback, Default) and songwriter/producer/musician Brian Howes (Hedley, Hinder) at Kroeger's Mountainview Studio, and the Nickelback main man was impressed enough with their songwriting and work ethic that he signed them to his Universal-distributed 604 label and helped out with some of the songs on their record.
"It's the first time that Chad and I have written together, and he's such an amazing writer," says Howes, the former frontman for Vancouver punk/rock/ska/rap band DDT. "It was a really fun project."
The synchronicity went even further when Kevin "Chief" Zaruk, Nickelback's tour manager and Hinder's manager, took the business reins for Faber Drive. They've since signed a U.S. deal with Universal, the same label as Hinder.
Faber Drive are now putting the finishing touches on the album with Moi and Howes. The first single is due early in the new year, while the full record will likely receive a simultaneous Canada-U.S. release in the spring.
