Death Cab, MMJ, Gomez And Others Salute The Band

Death Cab For Cutie

Everyone from The Allman Brothers Band to Death Cab For Cutie will pay tribute to The Band on Endless Highway: The Music Of The Band on January 30.

The Band, who evolved from Toronto group The Hawks, left a great impression on music listeners in the late '60s and '70s that has lasted until today. To commemorate their substantial contribution to the musical landscape, the 429 Records compilation will feature 19 of The Band's best known songs performed by the likes of Jakob Dylan, Jack Johnson, Gov't Mule and Gomez.

"Picking a song from their catalogue was like looking at your group of close friends and deciding which one is the closest," My Morning Jacket drummer Patrick Hallahan told Billboard.com.
