Panic! At The Disco Release Boxed Set And Are Insulted By Emo Label

Panic! At The Disco

Panic! At The Disco are following up their platinum-plus full-length debut, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, by re-releasing it in a limited edition CD/DVD boxed set on Nov. 14.

Only 25,000 copies of the set will be available worldwide. It will be filled with loads of material keeping with an early 20th century burlesque vaudevillian theme, including a cabaret mask, a period-themed newspaper, a phenakistoscope (an animation device made popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s in Belgium and Austria), a 140-page blank diary, lyric cards, a poster, band photos, a tour program and a certificate of authenticity to prove that this is legitimate Panic! At The Disco merchandise.

The DVD will include a documentary about the band as well as a live performance, both of which were filmed at the Fillmore Theatre in Denver, Colo. on July 22.

Meanwhile, Panic! singer Brendon Urie is trying to distance the band from being stereotyped as emo, "It's ignorant," he told Britain's New Music Express.

"The stereotype is guys that are weak and have failing relationships write about how sad they are. If you listen to our songs, not one of them has that tone.

"Emo is bullshit. If people want to take it for the literal sense of the word, yes we're an emotional band. We put a lot of thought into what we do. People always try to stereotype us, but we don't fit the emo stereotype."

Panic! At The Disco kick off an arena tour with guests Bloc Party and Jack's Mannequin in Florida on Nov. 7. Here are the Canadian dates:

Nov. 16 Toronto, ON @ Ricoh Coliseum
Dec. 2 Vancouver, BC @ Pacific Coliseum
