Tokyo Police Club Signs European Deal With Memphis Industries

Tokyo Police Club

Tokyo Police Club, one of Canada's top up-and-coming indie rock bands, are about to receive more international exposure.

The Toronto quartet, who released their A Lesson In Crime debut EP in North America through Toronto's Paper Bag Records earlier this year, have signed with Memphis Industries for Europe and the U.K.

The band's "Nature Of The Experiment" will be released as a U.K. seven-inch single with a newly recorded version of an old song called "Box" as the B-side on November 20. A video for "Nature Of The Experiment" is currently in post-production. "Cheer It On" and an unspecified B-side will be issued as a single across the pond on February 5. The full EP, along with the bonus track "Cut Cut Paste," will hit stores a week later.

Tokyo Police Club join two other bands as new signings to Memphis Industries: New Zealand's The Ruby Suns and Scotland's Bricolage.

Tokyo Police Club have been writing material for their first full-length, but there's no word yet on when that might see the light of day. The group will play some European shows in February, but will launch an extensive North American tour in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 16. Here are the Canadian dates:
