The Pet Shop Boys are supporting their first official live album with a North American theatre tour that kicks off this week in Canada.
Concrete: In Concert At The Mermaid Theatre, recorded for BBC Radio 2 with the BBC Concert Orchestra in London, England on May 8, will be released by Parlophone on Oct. 31.
For the two-disc set, the veteran electro-pop duo of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe performed many of their biggest hits, with help from special guests. Canadian Rufus Wainwright joined them on "Casanova In Hell," Robbie Williams contributed vocals to "Jealousy," Frances Barber lent her voice to "Friendly Fire," and Sally Bradshaw sang on both "Left To My Own Devices" and "It's Alright."
Trevor Horn, who produced the Boys' Fundamental album that came out earlier this year, served as the musical director and orchestra conductor.
The Pet Shop Boys begin their North American tour on Tuesday night at Montreal's Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier and will perform on Wednesday at Toronto's Hummingbird Centre.
