Avril Lavigne Sort Of Apologizes For Spitting On Photographers

If Vancouver pop-punk band Gob are looking for a high-profile female guest vocalist for their long overdue next album, Avril Lavigne seems like a perfect choice.
The Napanee, Ont. native is now living the high life in Los Angeles with her new husband, Sum 41's Deryck Whibley. The couple spent last Tuesday and Wednesday at Hollywood's Hyde club, with the second night being a celebration of Lavigne's 22nd birthday.
After they left the club on Tuesday and got into a vehicle, the pint-sized singer called a photographer over to the window and spat in his camera lens. The following night, Lavigne addressed photographers and fans with a series of smiling "Fuck you"s. She even signed a couple of autographs with that epithet.
Lavigne and Whibley then got into a vehicle, as people wished her a happy birthday. She then rolled down the window and spat in a photographer's face while calling him a bitch. Whibley expressed his approval, gave the devil horns sign with his hand and briefly stuck his leg out the window before they drove off.
The website tmz.com captured video footage of the incidents, and word spread quickly of Lavigne's misbehaviour. There was even talk of possible assault charges being laid against her. So her PR team got into high gear last Friday, and issued this statement from the artist:
"I'd like to sincerely apologize for my behavior with the Paparazzi. It's trying at best dealing with their insistent intrusions. I meant no offense to my fans, whose relationship I truly value. I have and will always go out of my way for my fans. My behavior was a reaction to the persistent attack from the paparazzi."
Have a look at last week's video footage and try to spot where Lavigne is being attacked. If you find any evidence of it, please let us know because we couldn't see any.
