Every day is music day here at ChartAttack, but Oct. 1 has been declared International Music Day. To mark the occasion, the CBC's Radio 3 and Bande A Part will host a free multimedia concert featuring acts from both English and French Canada.

Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton, Les Trois Accords, Joel Plaskett Emergency and Les Breastfeeders will come together at Toronto's Kool Haus at 7 p.m. on Oct. 1 for an event called See Vous Play.

"More and more French bands are playing in English Canada, and vice-versa," says Bande A Part program manager Hugues Sweeney. "Performing in Toronto gives the French bands exposure to an English audience in Canada's largest city and a real chance to grow their existing fan base."

Metric's frontwoman will play songs from her new Knives Don't Have Your Back album while accompanied by a 12-piece band, Montreal alt.rockers Les Trois Accords will make their first Toronto appearance, the Juno Award-nominated Plaskett will charm the crowd with his clever, melodic rock, and Les Breastfeeders will add their garage punk to the proceedings.

"The indie music scene in Canada has never been hotter, and CBC Radio 3 and Bande A Part are thrilled to be supporting emerging Canadian artists and providing accessible venues for fans to experience the best in new Canadian music," says CBC Radio 3 director Steve Pratt.

CBC Radio 3 hosts Grant Lawrence and Craig Norris and Bande A Part hosts Natalie Poirier and Alexandre Courteau will welcome the acts to the stage and interview them for their respective radio stations, websites and podcasts. The concert will be carried via live streaming video at cbcradio3.com and bandeapart.fm, as well as on Sirius Satellite Radio Network channels 93 and 94.

Tickets for the show can be reserved by visiting cbcradio3.com or bandeapart.fm.
