Robert Plant Releasing His First Music DVD

If you happened to catch the recent Robert Plant And The Strange Sensation special on PBS, but didn't have a chance to tape the show, Rounder Records/Zoe Vision will release it on DVD on Oct. 24.
The former Led Zeppelin frontman's first music DVD was recorded in front of a small audience at the PBS Soundstage Studios in Chicago last September. He was accompanied by his decidedly un-Zep-like new band, Strange Sensation, who feature: drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead, Roni Size); keyboardist John Baggott (Portishead, Massive Attack); bassist Billy Fuller (Fuzz Against Junk); guitarist Skin (Cast); and multi-instrumentalist Justin Adams (Sinead O'Connor, Jah Wobble).
The 66-minute performance, captured in high-definition and mixed in 5.1 Surround Sound, features both reworked Zeppelin classics and favourites from Plant's solo career. There are also two bonus tracks, the oft-covered "Hey Joe" and Bob Dylan's "Girl From The North Country."
"You find fresh nuances in the music, and the songs continue to grow with a life of their own," says Plant. "As I've explored the rich musical traditions of North Africa and the Middle East, elements of those musics have worked their way into some of the most unlikely songs — and that kind of constant reinvention keeps your creativity piqued."
Here are the tracks on Robert Plant And The Strange Sensation:
"No Quarter"
"Shine It All Around"
"Black Dog"
"Freedom Fries"
"Four Sticks"
"Tin Pan Valley"
"Gallows Pole"
"The Enchanter"
"Whole Lotta Love"
Bonus tracks:
"Hey Joe"
"Girl From The North Country"
