Pete Doherty Has His Sentence Delayed And Gets Evicted From His House

It's been a "good news, bad news" situation for Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty over the past two days.
First, the good news. The 27-year-old appeared in a London, England courtroom to be sentenced for five drug possession charges that he pleaded guilty to on Aug. 18.
But judge Jane McIvor deferred sentencing until Dec. 4 and told Doperty that he wouldn't be imprisoned if he continues with his rehabilitation program, maintains employment and commits no further offences. She noted that the troubled rocker had tested negative for heroin in two drug tests last month and also passed a test checking for cocaine in his system.
"At this stage, it would be counterproductive and simply take you away from society for a matter of weeks and would undo the hard work that a lot of professionals have put in," said McIvor, who also pointed out that she thought that Doperty's "The Blinding" was a "good tune."
"I obviously want my life back, really," Doperty told reporters outside of the courtroom, according to the Associated Press.
The former Libertines member added that he had "mixed feelings" about the judge's ruling because he "wants to be trusted" and the Priory rehab clinic where he's been staying is too expensive.
And now for the bad news.
The U.K.'s Life Style Extra website reports that Doperty's home in east London was boarded up on Tuesday as bailiffs prepared to evict him. His landlord, Andreas Panayiotou, claims that Kate Moss' sometimes boyfriend trashed the 350,000-pound ($736,000) townhouse and is 10,000 pounds ($21,000) behind in his rent.
Panayiotou called Doperty the "worst tenant" in his property management company's history, and claimed that the townhouse's walls were covered in blood and graffiti. He also believed that there was broken glass and used syringes all over the floor. Doperty hasn't paid rent since January and a court ordered him to vacate the house by Tuesday.
Two of Doperty's friends removed his possessions from the residence and took them away in a van. A message from a well-wisher was written in marker on the townhouse door after the judge announced her decision on Monday. It read: "Good fucking judge. PS sorry for vandalising your door."
