What's Really Going On With Rock Star Rehab At The Priory?

Media reports have been circulating about Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty, The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins and Keane vocalist Tom Chaplin teaming up to write songs together at The Priory rehabilitation clinic in London, England, but we'll have to wait and see if anything actually materializes as it hasn't been confirmed if the story is true.
The trio are all trying to kick their drug and alcohol habits at the renowned clinic, and an unnamed source told British newspaper The Sun that they met in group sessions and started up a working friendship.
"They all vaguely knew each other before, but when they found themselves meeting in difficult circumstances it somehow made them click. Tom was the first to play the piano in one session for some of the patients. After that, Pete and Justin just chipped in and suggested they write some music."
The source also said that Doperty had invited Hawkins to perform with Babyshambles on Sunday at the Get Loaded In The Park festival, which the former Libertines member had been given special permission in his bail conditions to play at while he's in rehab awaiting sentencing for his latest drug charges.
But while Doperty actually made it to the gig, and shouted "Big up to The Priory and the metropolitan police" during the band's performance, Hawkins was nowhere to be found.
The U.K.-based Megastar website, meanwhile, reports that the three men aren't even in the same facility, which would make collaborating pretty difficult. It says that Doperty is in the North London clinic, while Hawkins and Chaplin are farther south in the Roehampton location.
It also seems unlikely that Doperty and Hawkins would become too chummy after The Darkness member said this in an NME.com article last year: "I'd say firstly [Doperty] doesn't do rock music, and secondly, he only sells records because people are curious as to what a junkie sounds like. I think that's really wrong and really irresponsible... I think he's a talentless waste of fucking skin."
If Doperty can't work with his fellow addicts, he shouldn't count on Oasis as a fallback. He's reportedly been sending admiring notes to Liam and Noel Gallagher, trying to entice them into a collaboration, but the bickering brothers apparently aren't interested.
"They thought it was a joke at first, but they don't want anything to do with him," an unnamed source told Britain's Daily Star.
But Doperty seems to have made at least one friend in The Priory's adolescent unit, where he was reportedly spotted by a security guard distributing cocaine last week.
"When he walked in, Pete was there giving a kid drugs," yet another unnamed source told The Sun. "When this is over, he'll most likely be behind bars."
Doperty has also reportedly punched a nurse, as well as the walls of his room, during his stay at The Priory.
And last (and possibly least) in this installment of the ongoing saga, is Doperty's relationship with supermodel Kate Moss. According to British newspaper the Mirror, Moss has been on the phone every day with her on-again/off-again boyfriend, reassuring him that she loves him and wants to marry him.
"Pete was practically in tears during one conversation," said another Priory source without a name. "He said, 'If I hadn't fucked things up, we'd be married by now. I thought you were going to leave me.' It was very lovey-dovey."
Doperty will be sentenced for drug possession on Sept. 4.
