Jill Barber Releases New Album For All Time

Jill Barber

Jill Barber will try to stride further out of the shadow of her brother Matthew with the October 3 release of her For All Time album via Dependent/Baudelaire.

The singer/songwriter follows 2004's CBC-produced Oh Heart EP with an album influenced by jazz standards, folk ballads and traditional country tunes. The disc's 11 songs showcase Barber's distinctive voice and lyrics, which have earned her East Coast Music Awards and Canadian Folk Music Awards nominations, among other plaudits.

Barber will unveil the album with performances in the two cities that she's called home in recent years, Halifax and Toronto. She plays St. Matthew's United Church in Nova Scotia's capital on September 30, and will head to Ontario for a date at the Drake Hotel with Adam Cotton and Julie Fader on October 5. She'll tour the U.K. and Ireland later this fall, and will then return home to Canada for an 11-date theatre tour in support of Ron Sexsmith.

Here are the songs on For All Time:
"Just For Now”
“Don't Go Easy”
“When I'm Makin' Love To You”
“Ashes To Ashes”
“Hard Line”
“For All Time”
“Legacy”
