Wakestock 2006: Bands, Boards, Beers And Bikinis

Wakestock 2006, Canada's largest music and action sports festival, will take over the Toronto Islands from Aug. 10-13.
Wakestock concerts will commandeer three stages for three days and feature 40 bands. The music begins at noon each day.
The Friday lineup features Boys Night Out, No Use For A Name, Constantines, Social Code, Idle Sons, Hostage Life, Attack In Black, Truths And Rights, Machete Avenue, Darkest Hour, Misery Signals, Dodger, From A Second Story Window and Versus The Mirror.
Saturday's performers will be Sloan, Pilot Speed, Thornley, The Trews, Mobile, Kardinal Offishall, The Miniatures, Oliver Black, Rocketface, The Junction, Comic Book Fever, Late Fallen and Ruth's Hat.
Things will finish up on Sunday with Panic And The Rebel Emergency, Down With Webster, Cities In Dust, 80 Proof, Rachelle, Mugshot and Remote Wonder.
Besides the live music and wakeboarding, there will be after-parties, beer gardens, displays of action sports apparel and gear, a skate park, a bikini contest and other attractions. Visit the Wakestock website for more details. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
