Radiohead's OK Computer Gets Worked Over By Critics On New DVD

Radiohead

Radiohead's OK Computer, the disc that Britain's Q Magazine once called "the best album ever recorded," will soon be resuscitated in a new DVD called OK Computer: Classic Album Under Review.

This latest installment in the Under Review series, scheduled for a Sept. 19 release via Music Video Distributors and Sexy Intellectual, will examine each of the 1997 album's tracks.

OK Computer was recently named the best album of the last 20 years (1985-2005) by Spin magazine, which said it "uncannily predicted our global culture of communal distress."

Contributors who engaged in the examination include Radiohead: A Guide To Their Music author Mark Paytress, ex-MOJO editor Barney Hoskyns, Radiohead biographer Alex Ogg, author Dai Griffiths, journalist Jake Kennedy and ex-Melody Maker contributor David Stubb.

The 53-minute DVD will feature rare live and studio performances of each OK Computer song (as well as "Creep" from the band's Pablo Honey debut) in 5.1 surround sound. The disc will also feature a "Beyond DVD" section, "The Hardest Interactive Radiohead Quiz In The World Ever" and contributor biographies.

Focusing on the future, Radiohead are hard at work on their next album and will play some festivals in Europe next month. Thom Yorke, the group's principal songwriter, is currently basking in the success of his first solo record, The Eraser.
