Mastodon Climb Blood Mountain On Warner Bros. Debut

Progressive metalheads Mastodon have left Relapse Records behind and will make their Warner Bros. debut on Sept. 12 with the release of Blood Mountain.
The band will fulfill their obligations with their former label by releasing a limited edition seven-inch single of "Crystal Skull" that features vocals by Scott Kelly of Neurosis.
The follow-up to 2004's Leviathan is a concept album that follows a character's struggle to place a crystal atop Blood Mountain. Unlike your ordinary mountain hike, this trek sees its protagonist being chased by mythical beasts such as the Cysquatch, "a one-eyed Sasquatch that can see into the future."
"It would be really cool if you had kids in their bedroom not trying to learn Linkin Park songs, but trying to learn Mastodon songs," drummer Brann Dailor told MTV News. "It's cool music that's honest and from the heart, and it's technically challenging."
Mastodon have been part of the Unholy Alliance Tour, where they played four Canadian shows earlier this month with Slayer, Lamb Of God, Children Of Bodom and Thine Eyes Bleed. To coincide with the release of Blood Mountain, the band will headline a North American tour with support from Converge and The Bronx.
Here are Mastodon's Canadian tour dates:
Sept. 10 Montreal, QC @ Spectrum
Sept. 12 Toronto, ON @ Phoenix
Here are the songs on Blood Mountain:
"The Wolf Is Loose"

"Circle Cysquatch"
