Fall Out Boy Delay New Album To Play With Snakes

It's not for a lack of trying, but there's almost no chance of a new Fall Out Boy album appearing in stores this year.
"We'd really love to do it, but in order for us to, things would be absolutely insane," bassist Pete Wentz told MTV News. "There will definitely be a single out by year's end, though."
Wentz said that the delay in recording the follow-up to From Under The Cork Tree has nothing to do with the band, but with changes at its record company, Island/Def Jam.
"There have been some changes in our label, a little bit of strangeness there. Half the phone numbers I have for people at the label don't have people on the other end of them anymore. It slowed us slightly, but we're getting back up to speed."
It appears that the band are going to hit the studio with producer Neal Avron and about 20 new songs written by Wentz and singer Patrick Stump by the end of this week.
Wentz has also been busy helping put the soundtrack together for the eagerly-awaited and much-hyped Samuel L. Jackson film, Snakes On A Plane. The Aug. 15 New Line release will feature remixes of Fall Out Boy's "Of All The Gin Joints In All The World" and Panic! At The Disco's "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom And Suicide Is Press Coverage," as well as songs from All-American Rejects, Cee-Lo, Michael Franti & Spearhead and Coheed & Cambria, among others.
Cobra Starship — featuring members of The Academy Is..., Midtown, The Sounds and Gym Class Heroes — have recorded "Snakes On A Plane (Bring It)" as the film's theme song. Its video features the group along with Jackson and Wentz, with the musicians smuggling the reptiles on the plane via their luggage and instrument cases. Snakes On A Plane, about an assassin who frees a crate full of deadly snakes on an airliner in an attempt to kill a witness, will hit theatres on Aug. 18.
"I think the whole concept behind the film is hilarious, and it's something that just kept growing and growing, so I had to be a part of it," Wentz told NME.com. "I called my friends and we got some remixes and here it is.
"To be honest, part of the reason I did this was to meet Samuel L. Jackson."
