Loose Ends: Lavigne/Whibley Wedding, Kroeger Police Investigation And From First To Last Cancellations

Canadian pop/punk power couple Avril Lavigne and Deryck Whibley appear to have moved up their wedding plans. ETalk reports that friends and family members were notified and told to book immediate flights to Santa Barbara, California, where Lavigne and the Sum 41 frontman share a house (that's said to include a nursery). A wedding was originally expected on August 26, but the pair apparently decided to scrap that when word leaked out to the media. The Insider website reports that a bridal shower was thrown for Lavigne last Friday and that a sexy red bra, a thong and some handcuffs were included among her gifts.
If your last name was Turton, would you change it to Kroeger? If you were drunk and could afford a chauffeur, or an entire cab company for that matter, would you get behind the wheel of a car? These are some of the questions that have been faced by Nickelback's frontman, who Surrey, B.C. police are investigating after he was pulled over around 2 a.m. on June 22 for speeding and erratic driving. While there's a chance that he could be nailed for impaired driving, no charges have been laid at this point.
From First To Last singer Sonny Moore is undergoing surgery on a nodule on his vocal chords, which has forced the post-hardcore band to withdraw from the Vans Warped Tour. They anticipate that Moore will be fully recovered by the fall when they plan to launch a headlining tour in support of their Heroine album.
Ashlee Simpson apparently turned down $4 million U.S. to pose nude for Playboy, denying everyone a chance to see if Jessica Simpson's little sister underwent surgery on anything more than her nose.
Seal has been ordered by a British court to pay his former manager commissions on earnings from his first two albums. Seal (real name Henry Olusegun Adeola Samuel) must make an interim payment of $922,000 U.S. to John Wadlow, while a full amount will be decided at an upcoming court hearing. Seal and Wadlow, who was a partner in a recording studio, met in 1987 before the man now married to supermodel Heidi Klum had attracted any record company interest. Seal's 1991 debut and its 1994 follow-up both topped the British charts before a management and publishing agreement was signed by the two parties in 1995. The soul singer's lawyers argued that no commissions were owed to Wadlow on the first two albums either under the 1995 agreement or a 1990 management pact.
