On The Road Again: Jamie Lidell, Ultimate Power Duo And Evil Doers

Soulfully funky British singer Jamie Lidell made a favourable impression on his last visit to North America in the winter, so he's returning to Canada to play select festivals in support of his Multiply album.
The Super Collider co-founder has drawn comparisons to Sly Stone, Prince, Sam Cooke and Al Green. He's friends with Feist and plays and co-writes with Canadian musician Mocky, so you can get patriotic by checking out his Canada Day show. Lidell is playing these dates:
July 1 Vancouver, BC @ Commodore Ballroom
July 4 Calgary, AB @ Hi-Fi
July 7 Montreal, QC @ Club Soda
July 8 Toronto, ON @ Harbourfront Centre
July 9 Ottawa, ON @ Ottawa Bluesfest MNBA Stage
Saskatoon "Demolition Rock" purveyors Ultimate Power Duo (who are actually a trio) are crossing the country in support of their first full-length CD, We're In Control Now, which was produced by David J. Taylor (Despitado, Sylvie). The Ramones-styled band have released four EPs over the past two years, and their new songs touch on such topics as fake moon landings, zombies, the war on terror and mole men. Get demolished here:
