The Gossip Get Tweaked By MSTRKRFT And Le Tigre

The Gossip

The Gossip, a band who have made it their mission to make you dance to their punky rhythms, have put the finishing touches on a new EP of remixes called GSSP RMX that's set for an Aug. 22 release via Kill Rock Stars.

The EP features four versions of "Listen Up," the second single from their latest album, Standing In The Way Of Control. The track appears in its original form and also gets worked over by MSTRKRFT, A Touch Of Class and Arthur Baker, who has produced both New Order and Afrika Bambaataa.

GSSP RMX also features a Le Tigre remix of "Standing In The Way Of Control" and a cover of the Aaliyah track, "Are You That Somebody."

The Portland, Ore.-based trio will also soon appear on DVD. The collection of performance clips is tentatively scheduled for an April 2007 release, and should include footage from their All Tomorrow's Parties set, an appearance at Portland's Wonder Ballroom and more. Morgen Dye, who directed the "Listen Up" video, is working on the project.

As a teaser for the DVD, the EP includes a video of The Gossip playing "Listen Up" at the Wonder Ballroom-hosted record release party for Standing In The Way Of Control.

The Gossip are in the midst of a European tour that wraps up at the end of July. They'll traverse the United States in September and October, but no Canadian dates are currently scheduled.
