Lloyd Banks Leaks New Songs On Stage And In Bed

G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks is hungry for attention and he has a new album on the way that just might secure it for him.
Banks' second LP, Rotten Apple, was originally slated for a July 18 release by G-Unit/Interscope. That date has now been pushed back until later in the summer, but that isn't stopping the Queens, New York-based rapper from getting his new music out to anxious fans. He's already performing three of the album's songs on his current tour: "Cake," the Timbaland-produced "My House" and Rotten Apple's first single, "Hands Up."
Not surprisingly, Banks has enlisted the help of some prominent friends for his new record. In an interview with MTV News, he discussed the album and some of the high-profile guests that fans can expect to hear on it.
"I'm getting ready to work with Timbaland again during crunch time before the album comes out," said Banks. "He just makes new music, it sounds like no other music out there.
"That's what I'm trying to keep. I want to keep my sound new. I don't want people to know who did the beat as soon as they hear the first five seconds of [it]."
Before deciding on "Hands Up," "My House" was originally intended to be the lead single from Rotten Apple because Banks thought it would be more radio-friendly. "Cake" is a much rawer song that Banks suggests would be heavily censored were it to hit the airwaves. Fellow G-Unit artist 50 Cent makes appearances on all three of the tracks.
Banks also looked outside the G-Unit camp for help on Rotten Apple and obtained the services of Scarface, 8Ball and Rakim.
"It doesn't hurt to have these legends stand behind me," said Banks. "I been listening to Rakim since I was a baby, as well as Scarface and 8Ball. I was in junior high school, elementary school listening to these artists."
Eminem produced a song on the album, Timbaland and Mobb Deep's Havoc produced the title track, and Ron Browse was at the controls for a couple more. Other producers were also enlisted to help out.
Besides performing his new songs on stage, Banks has also been busy promoting Rotten Apple in bed. He recently told the hip-hop news website SOHH.com that, after jumping into bed for a threesome with two new lady friends, he accidentally left behind a CD containing the new album's tracks.
"That comes from me doing too much," Banks said of the indecent incident. "I was just lost in my ways, fucked two women at one time.
"It's the little things you don't pay attention to. I had the CD in an actual [DJ] Whoo Kid mixtape cover. It was just a blank CD with just tracks. I got over 70, 80 tracks, so you can't get them all on one CD. So I might have had 14 tracks of the last two weeks or something like that.
"Next thing I know, [I] can't find the CD. I'm assuming it had to be from one of those situations when you got too much going on around you. Maybe I'mma just stick to one girl from now on. That's the only explanation that makes sense. Sticky fingers."
So far, there's no evidence that his foible has caused a leak of the album on the internet.
