Loose Ends: Barenaked Ladies Remixing, Alex Kapranos' Book And Elvis Joins The Circus

Barenaked Ladies are posting multiple tracks from their song "Easy" on their website and MySpace page that will allow fans to remix, reconstruct, re-edit and reconfigure the track to create their own personal version. In addition to this first single from the band's forthcoming Barenaked Ladies Are Me album, four more songs will be made available the same way over the next few months. The band will choose their five favourite remixes and put them on an EP that will be released later this year, with all of the proceeds going go charity.
When Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos isn't using his mouth to sing, he's probably stuffing it with food. He's been writing food columns for The Guardian newspaper and plans to assemble them, along with additional new material, into a book titled Sound Bites that should be published by the end of the year. Glasgow School Of Art graduate Andrew Knowles, the band's touring drummer and keyboard player, will illustrate the book.
After Cirque Du Soleil announced that it was going to create a show based around The Beatles, you knew that a production focused on Elvis Presley couldn't be too far behind. CKX Inc., the parent company of Elvis Presley Enterprises, has entered a long-term joint venture with the Montreal-based firm to produce a series of shows highlighting Presley's life and music. They'll also create interactive, multimedia museums called "Elvis Experiences." Touring productions are expected to launch in about 18 months in Europe and Asia, while the first of the Elvis Experience museums should open later in 2008.
