Lady Sovereign Superfan Gets His Date

After a month of trying to raise $10,000 U.S. online, Zach Slow accomplished his goal and took U.K. MC Lady Sovereign on a high-end date.

As previously reported, the superfan started a website called Help Me Get Random With Lady Sovereign in hopes of soliciting funds to use on a night on the town with his favourite rapper. Slow's wish came true on June 9 when he joined Lady Sov following her San Francisco show.

Slow gives a breakdown on his site of where all the money was spent. He dropped $5,000 on a private yacht and chef, $1,000 for five hours use of a stretch SUV limo, and another $1,000 on first class flights to Los Angeles. Hotel rooms and a suite at a deluxe hotel set him back $1,500. He sunk $700 into "overly priced primo booze" for seven people, $180 was handed out as tips for the limo and yacht staff, and the limo to the airport cost $150. Gifts accounted for $200 and PayPal charges ate up the remaining $270.

Lady Sovereign pointed Slow out from the stage at her show and identified him as her date for the night. He went to her tour bus after the performance, where camera crews were waiting to capture his meeting with the grime artist. The date really got underway when the SUV limo picked up the pair, and some of their friends, to take them to the yacht. Vodka and champagne was flowing en route.

The yacht was equipped with a kitchen, couches, chairs, a balcony, a deck, a crew and a bartender who "got kind of retarded" after Slow shared his pot with him.

"Eventually we just moved him aside and started making our own drinks," wrote Slow.

"Let's smoke another blunt, Zach Slow," said Sovereign as they sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge, prior to taking control of steering the vessel from the captain for "about half an hour." The cruise ended around 3 a.m. and they went to a hotel to hang out for a couple of more hours before Slow "passed out on one of the couches and slept until everyone headed down to L.A. the next day for her next show," where the rapper admitted she was hung over.

After the booze, blunts and bling, Slow said he had "one of the most fun nights" he'd ever had.

"If booze and partying like a millionaire could punch you, then i had just been KO'd," he wrote.

Slow also had glowing things to say about his date.

"She is incredibly cool, mellow and down to earth. I've hung out with local musicians who have bigger heads about their careers than she does. She's confident, but very humble. She's also funny as shit and had me cracking up constantly."
