Joe Keithley Launches Another Record Label

Joe "Shithead" Keithley, the leader of Vancouver punk band D.O.A. and founder of Sudden Death Records, has decided to test his luck a second time by creating a new label called Taboo Records.
While Sudden Death will continue to act as a home to punk bands, Taboo will host different styles, including ska, rock and pop.
"In essence, anything goes with Taboo, as we know that cool music can come in many different forms," says Keithley. "So here's our chance to branch out."
Taboo's first signing is Calgary pop/rock band Once Just. The quartet — Caleb Cummings, Chris Noble, Dave Delamont and Mike Van Doorn — formed seven years ago and have since released three independent albums and toured across North America.
"When I heard their latest release, Stand, I realized that these guys had real talent and great songs," says Keithley. "So I made Once Just the first signing to Taboo Records."
Once Just are recording their Taboo debut at Sundae Sound in Calgary and the album is scheduled for a September release.
Taboo will release Keithley's new solo album next spring. It promises to be quite a departure from D.O.A. by brandishing a roots/ska sound.
"And of course it will have a lot of passion in it," emphasizes Keithley. "Take my word on this matter."
