Living Things Claim They Were Attacked By The Ghost Of Creed

Living Things singer Lillian Berlin claims that his band were attacked onstage by at least one member of Alter Bridge, the group formed by three ex-members of Creed.

The alleged attack occurred this past week at a show the two bands were playing in Switzerland. Berlin, known for his mid-show anti-George Bush rants, told MTV News that Alter Bridge and their crew took exception to some things he said about the president.

"We were in the middle of our second song, and I had some stuff to say about the current administration and the way they're handling the Iraq war. The Swiss were all behind us, and the crowd was cheering me on...

"We went into our fourth song, and some goon from that Creed band [Alter Bridge] came out swinging an American flag and then threw it at our drummer, Bosh [Berlin]."

Lillian ignored the flag-toter, thinking it was just an excited member of the audience. Meanwhile, he claims, guitarist Corey Becker was being "trampled" by two Alter Bridge crew hands and one unidentified band member on the other side of the stage.

"I was still unaware at this point that these weren't crowd people, so I started screaming for security to get them offstage," Lillian said. "The only reason I knew it was a guy from that band was because I met him backstage, and he had some sports team's ski cap on."

Alter Bridge disagree with the Living Things' version of events from the show. In a statement issued the next night, the band stated: "Alter Bridge was not happy that this band chose to deliver anti-American statements to their audience.

"However, no Alter Bridge band members were onstage, and their crew was in their designated working areas during this supposed incident. Alter Bridge thinks this is just a weak attempt by the opening band to drum up press for themselves."

According to Lillian, Bosh has a black eye and an injured left hand and Becker has black-and-blue marks on his neck from being choked, a black eye and a swollen nose.

Surprisingly, Creed seem to be doing at least as much damage post-break-up as they did with their music. Former Creed singer Scott Stapp was accused last year of starting a fight with the band 311 in a Baltimore hotel bar.
