It's appropriate that Johnny Cash's American V: A Hundred Highways will be released on the 220th anniversary of the U.S. on July 4, but there's a strong Canadian element to the album as well.

The American/Lost Highway record features two timeless Canuck songs, Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" and Ian Tyson's "Four Strong Winds."

In addition to a number of other covers, including Bruce Springsteen and Rod McKuen cuts, the album also features "Like The 309," the last song the legendary artist wrote and recorded before his death at age 71 three years ago.

Rick Rubin once again produced the fifth installment in Cash's American series, which helped revive his career in the '90s and gave younger fans an appreciation of his unique talents as both a singer and songwriter.

Put on some black attire while reading this track list from American V: A Hundred Highways:

"Help Me"
"God's Gonna Cut You Down"
"Like the 309"
"If You Could Read My Mind"
"Further on up the Road"
"The Evening Train"
"I Came To Believe"
"Love's Been Good To Me"
"A Legend In My Time"
"Rose Of My Heart"
"Four Strong Winds"
"I'm Free From The Chain Gang Now"
